3.0 coolant leak

Hey guys glad to be here, i just bought a 99 3.0 v6 ranger, it’s been losing coolant (good rate but not severe) and i noticed it was in the oil. The truck never overheated. Got misfire codes for cylinder 3 and 6. The compression test went as follows ( closed throttle cold engine 5 cranks)
6-85
5-135
4-120
3-150
2-140
1-145
from doing the math the lowest should be 127.
the spark plug on the 2nd cylinder was a lot cleaner on the electrode than all the others, the second port back for the upper intake gasket is a lot cleaner than all the others. And there was some coolant sitting there when i took the plenum off and it also poured out of the plenum?
im in the process of taking the lower intake gasket off to check it. I think that’s what it is but I’m curious if that’s causing the low compression on those cylinders or if it’s leaning more towards head gasket.

gave all the information i have i hope it’s enough to get some input, thanks guys!

Welcome to the forum

3.0l runs 9.3:1 compression ratio so even with higher miles 155-165 psi would be expected

#6 probably has a burnt exhaust valve, compression is too low for "just" a head gasket issue
But other cylinders do show that symptom

I would go ahead and plan on pulling the heads and having a look

Do you think it could be the valve seal leak that’s known? The truck is a 99 but the engine was replaced when the previous owner had it so i don’t know what year it is. I am gonna try a wet compression test when i get home, and if i can find someone that has a leak down tester i will do that too

Valve seals are outside the cylinder, and while they can allow oil to get sucked in on the intake valve stem, they can't effect(lower) compression, if anything that would raise compression like a WET test does

It was working fine before I drained it and flushed it. And when I tighten the rockers down, only a couple go down far enough to open the valves. It's very weird. I made sure I had the left gasket on the drivers side and right one on the passenger side too. When the leak down tester gets here I'll open the engine back up and take a closer look at everything.
