any intel about R&R a belt tensioner on a 99 3.0 V6? i am about to replace the idler pulley ( squeaking and excessive play) and belt and figure that a belt tensioner would be good preventive maintenance. i cant find a good video on line nor any obvious bolts holding it on.I found a "walk thru" on a website that says its held on with a "reverse Torx head", this does not sound right
Any help would be appeciated

 

If the tensioner moves freely and has a firm solid feeling spring its fine. I wouldnt worry too much about the tensioner itself. Pulley yes, same with idler pulley.

 

Thanks...I ended ofc just changing the idler pulley and belt. The squeak went away. I wisk the engine compartment had about 6 inches more clearance.
