You have to remember i have headers so my motor might respond a little better to the rockers because of being able to get the exhaust out more effectively.
I would have to say the JBA headers and 1.7 Roller Rockers are the best performance mods for the 3.0L
Yes there is a noticeable difference when merging on to the interstate or when going up hills and such. It don't need to down shift as much.

Gotta be honest I just searched this on google and this thread came up, was relieved to see it is recent.

This is awesome. I wanted to get the Morana kit but it was too expensive and I heard people had computer issues after install.

With the quality control and an affordable price I may have to look into a set, have you already posted this info on therangerstation as well? I'm sure you will find buyers on all of the Ranger forums!

rangerrunner3.0 03-05-2012 08:52 PM

just bought a set of these bad boys.

I just think it was a great idea that got terminated because of poor quality control. I had problems on my first install from morana because of no quality control.Nothing sucks worse than spending $400 and a couple hours of time to start your truck and here every rocker arm knock because of poor machinery. And then wait another month for a resolve.

Now I'm scared to install the ones from morana now...

You have a set of Morana's 1.7's?
Just check the pedestals over really good. That's where people were having trouble.
I think it was just something out of Mr. Morana's control and thats why he closed the machine shop.
If you want I will send you a PM later today and show you a easy way to check your pedestals so you don't have to do the install twice.:261:

I bought them last summer but it took over 3 months to get them. Tom Morana sent them to the wrong address and it turned into a cluster of epic proportions. Your packaging is much better.

I've been so tied up they are just sitting on my workbench waiting to be installed.

I would really appreciate it if you could send the PM.

I had my after results but was having trouble getting my before results. Got them E-mailed to me today so here ya' go.
I was a little off with my initial 151 hp 180 tq.:24:

Before 1.7's

After 1.7's

Backup run

It actually gained 20 hp. on the first 1.7 Rocker pull.
And notice how peak hp. comes in lower in the rev range.
There's the facts.

Should work just fine on the early 3.0's.
They did switch to roller lifter's in 94 but the rocker assembly should be the same.
Ford made some changes to the 3.0 along the way with intakes and such but nothing to the actual design of the motor.

I think the 3.0 that was used in cars like the Taurus has shallow valve covers and would run into clearance issues with the roller rockers.

Don't quote me on that but I have heard of bent push rods because of the rocker hitting the valve cover on the Taurus

This is why i only offer them for the truck guy's

rangerrunner3.0 03-24-2012 10:41 PM

almost ready to put the rockers. that i bought on. because im wanting on my si vavle to come in. so i can machine the heads and port and polish them. lol. but did a test fit. and there perfect. and also thank you for a great product. will post dyno results as well. and well dyno at work, plus tune the truck.

Been awhile since Ive looked into this, it turned into one of those mods I shouldve, couldve, wouldve done. Rouge performance was selling something similar to this a few years back, if I remember right, you had to drill and tap the rocker pedestal to accept a larger bolt (probably why I never did it). Why was that and how did you get around it?

N20-3.0 03-27-2012 11:24 AM

I think the Rouge rocker sets were adjustable. So you probably had to tap the head out to accept the rocker stud.
This is direct bolt on using the proper bolts and pedestal height.
