Anybody have any luck getting a hold of him or a set to get specs??
|
I have tried several times a few months ago with no luck, so I had already bought some crane rockers from summit,I'll make up my own adjustable length pushrod and see if I can make it work on another junk 3.0 I have before I try them in the truck again. I just went through the engine in my ranger( old one threw a rod, that's how I bought it)and they would not work. That's what I'm going to try next but I don't know when I'll get to it. I will post results good or bad when I actually do it

Thanks!!! Just wiped out my rollers Sat. Morning. :-(
Looking for another set. Like the way these bolt down.. Mine where stud type. |
He should at least provide us the machining details so we can tackle it ourselves since he isn't making them anymore.

Why run 1.7 when you can run 1.8 roller rockers and get more Hp &ft pounds of torque
1.7 Chinese roller rockers only give you an extra 30 thousand lift compared to the 1.8 roller rocker wich is American built gives you 60 thousand more lift then stock 1.6 rockers Morana racing did sell the 1.7 roller rockers for a few months until new Intel was gathered they discontinued the product and started to sell the 1.8 roller rockers wich were better quality and performance, and offer an American lifetime warrant. listed here is a dyno test wich the facts http://moranav6racing.com/downloads/...0SHEET%202.jpg The reason for the product change was the history of the 1.7 Chinese roller rockers getting noisy around 15,000-18,000 miles. if any one still is interested in the 1.7 roller rockers or 1.8 roller rockers and bolt on adjustable. they are available from an Americana company with a life time warranty Tom Morana Racing Engines still has them for sale A true Patriot would purchase and American product and be proud |
Hello Tom,
Good to see you on the forum. A few members here were concerned about the quality control on your rocker mounts. They said the machining was off quite a bit from part to part. Is this a problem from the past that we no longer need to be concerned with? I would imagine so. |
hello
thanks for the warm welcome. yes there was an issue with the roller rockers in the past , how ever we have discontinued any purchasing from the Chinese company for any roller rockers. we now supply an American brand roller rocker that has a lifetime Greentree. wich have no history of being off on measurements. 1.7 are $350 us 1.8 are $400 us |
Do the 1.8s fit the 3.0 V6?

I know that the ones i sell will fit without any other modifications , i cant speak for any other supplier,
if you send me a few pictures of your roller rockers il be able to recognize if they will fit with out any issues |
How much for a kit
Just wondering how much for the kit. Sounds like it's pretty bullet proof. And from all my research it sounds that going with the 1.7 is the best way
|
I was in touch with Tom a month or so ago for upper and lower intakes. With racing season started now or soon up here, he's likely to be busy. I'm now kicking myself for not having the cash to push the go button on the intakes, timing chain and roller-rockers.

I did the how to on these 1.7 Roller Rocker kits and now they are not available.
So here's what has been done. I took my truck back apart and went through the whole rocker assembly and found that there were variances in the Morana rocker mounts. So i have done my homework and with the help of a local engine builder/machinist i have put together and tested a bolt on 1.7 Roller Rocker kit for the Ranger 3.0L. The 1.7 rocker arms raise your lift at valve from .416" to .442" and let the 3.0 make better torque down low and more power up high in the rev range. These kits require no tapping of threads and are a simple bolt on. What I want to know is there a interest out there for these kits. I would sell direct for $280 or i will be listing on my E-bay store for $310 and i am not just talking i have several kits ready to go now. Like i have said before i ran a kit very similar to this for about 100,000 miles with no problems. I just think my quality control would be a lot better and my prices lower. I paid about $400 to get my kit to me from Canada Just wanted to see what you 3.0 guys think? Here's a few pics of one of my roller rocker arm assembly's next to a factory rocker arm. https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1329676972 https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1329676972 https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1329676972 |
Rockers
Really late but do you still have the rockers for sale?
|
04 3.0L 5spd cold air, no muff, fuel cat,rear sway,4 roto
is this still going on?
i would also be interested in a set but i swear proform makes the same thing for 180 whats so different about yours? i do get the guarantee it will fit my truck 1000% i get that. |
I believe the rocker arms themselves are Proform rockers for a Ford 302.
the difference is, the guy selling these was making custom pedestals to mount these in the stock 3.0 heads. Not sure if he still does these or not. I got lucky several years ago, I had a broken pedestal and he happened to have one laying around. The head had a burr I didnt see and caused the issue. they were definitely worth the upgrade. |
I'm kind of disappointed no one has posted the machining of the pedastol specs, it would be very easy to run off a few set if someone was willing to pop a valve cover for me...
|
There is still some. Of these on eBay for 249... Is this you? Bout to buy a set but would like to make sure they are the ones you fabbed up to fit the stock heads
|

I got lucky 10 years ago and the guy had a couple extra laying around to replace a broken one I had. And at that time, he hadn't been making them for a while |
