35"s on a 3.0 ???

4.88 to 3.73 is a HUGE difference, even 4.10 to 4.88 is huge.

i think 33's will fix that problem or i hope they will

our trucks kinda suck for towing anyways
i have to drive with out o/d while towing in the mountains all the time
on flat and freeway driving i use o/d but it takes for ever to get up to speed

I'm having a gear dilemma too. I have a 3.0L, 5-speed and stock 4.10s with 31s, and that has been perfectly fine for me. But I have a body lift newly installed and the Fabtech spindles waiting to be put for 35s. I cant decide on 4.56s or 4.88s either. I do mostly city and camp trail driving, but am planning semi-regular 2 hour road trips this year. I was always planning on the 4.56s but am now leaning much more towards the 4.88s. I wish I could drive with both then decide but that would cost way too much.

hahaha.

wow when i bought my truck i was rocking 33's on 3.73 gearing and it was terrible. i hit a big hill rolling in 5th gear and i just started to lose all my power.

i bought 31's and they are better.

i still dont ever see 5th gear and i dont think my truck would turn them tires if it wasnt for having manual transmission.

Right now I have 265's with 3.73's, and I still have enough power to light them up through second gear. Mind you I have a 4.0 and manual. But IMO go with the 4.56's if you have an auto.

im a 3.0l 5speed with 35's. its not bad i still get anywhere from 15-18 depending on how i drive. But i am goin to put 4.56's and a locker in.

personally... If you're driving a lot of highway then I don't think a Ranger with 35's no matter the gears is a very good option. Is this your DD and you wheel? is that the real issue here?
