the distributor cap bolts broke off flush with the distributor and as you all know the placement of the distributor on a 88 ranger on the 2.9 motor is horrible. so my question is would it be better to just buy a new distributor or try to get the broken off bolts out and does the intake manifold have to come off to remove the distributor

 

Did you eve get any help with this. We have an 87 and have to replace the clamp and don't know how or where it connects to. It wasn't even on the truck when we got it.
