93 3.0 with a 91 4.0 swap
93 3.0 with a 91 4.0 swap
I have a 93 ranger that I’m swapping a 91 Ford Explorer 4.0 into I have the engine harness and ecu and everything the only issue I’m having now is on the driver side of the explorer there’s a few more plugs then on the ranger so I have extra plugs I’m not sure what to do with? Do I have to use the whole harness that goes along side of the frame too? I believe that’s what those plugs go to

Not a common swap so there will not be much wiring info out there on it
A 1991 Explorer 4.0l will use a separate spark module(EDIS-6) attached to Rad support, don't forget it and its harness
You will just use the 4.0l engine harness and computer(with EDIS-6) and remove the 3.0l engine wiring harness and Computer, with its TFI module
The Ranger BODY wiring will stay
You will need to unwrap some harness's to separate wires for engine and body
The person selling these EVTMs most likely did the swap you are doing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/275206712893
You could buy these, use them, then re-sell them, I didn't see a 1993 Ranger EVTM on its own
EVTM = electric vacuum troubleshooting manual
Ford made these and sent them out to Dealer Shops for every model every year
They list all the wires and locations for every engine and option in that model
Well worth the money for any swap between different models
I did see this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1991-Ford-E...0796369?_ul=IL
But 1991-1994 Explorers were same generation so 1993 wiring should be same as 1991, but you never know, lol
