'99 3.0 fuel pump cant find

'99 3.0 fuel pump cant find

my fuel pump went in my 99, 3.0, flex fuel, 4 wheel drive ext. cab, two door, i have tried finding a fuel pump for my truck cant find one...all i can get from dealer is entire fuel assembly....dont want ttat...juat the pump, and any pumps i get dont fit...looked at one from 2000 its close but i dont think it will work...anyone know a reason why all the pumps for my truck dont fit my truck....and where i can find one for my truck...any info be great

Are you sure its the pump? I don't know if you know but Rangers have a fuel pump cut off switch.

You can either drop the gas tank or remove the bed to get to it

I once did the swap-the-pump-only bit on and Escort years ago -- splicing the wiring and lines together. It's better to get the whole assembly. And yes, your bed will have to come off or your fuel tank out to get at it. Sometimes strange as it seems, it's easier to remove the bed.

I have one. Its from (body swap) 99 ext cab 3.0 flex fuel 2wd (before the swap to 4wd) Should be the same though.

yea i have it out already...ohm tested it..it runs but has way to much resistance. so i know that the problem...just cant find one that fits...dont know why..and a new assembly is a lot more money
