Acetone...
Acetone...
A co-worker told me the other night that Acetone could potentially help in improving gas mileage. Here is what he told me...everytime you fill up your gas tank, for every 10 gallons of gas, pour 10 oz of pure acetone into your tank. In doing so, this can will potentially help in gas mileage and this is a very effective method of cleaning out your fuel system. Is this true? If it is true, what are the side effects?
…acetone mixed with the gasoline. Busted The acetone was less fuel efficient.

I had a 94 ranger and at 113K miles , I tried it. It did bring the negine back to near new mileage. but after a few tankfuls no inprovement.
I believe that all it did was cleanup the carbon in the fuel injectors, etc.
It was cheaper than injector cleaner thats about it. yeah I finished up the quart can but didn't buy another.

I put it in my 95 ranger and it didnt change a thing. If you looking for a injector cleaner I had two friends that fun marvels mystery oil and the other runs lucus gas addative to every tank and there milage when up a few mpg and then stayed there. I would say for the price of marvels mystery oil and the price of gas now I am def going to start running it in every tank.
