Air conditioning
I am seeing continuity between the two terminals at the clutch/compressor. Seems odd.
i have checked the AC clutch fuse and it is good, and powered when the AC switch is activated, but I am not seeing a 12 v at the plug end at compressor. There is a diode in one of the conductors to the plug. Why are there two conductors to the compressor? The case of compressor is grounded to the frame or battery neg?
any insight?

I had the same problem with mine..
just top it up. Mine did the same thing where it would not engage so I just hot wired it and would turn the pump on for 10-20 seconds then leave it off for 10-20 seconds… after a while the pump blew and I realized that the pressure was low so that’s why it wasn’t working.
AC shops won't service your R12 system but you can still find R12 cans
Problem is its probably a waste of money as at that age system most likely leaks which is why compressor won't cycle on
And, as said above, if you force the compressor to come on it will burn it out because low pressure means low OIL so no lube for compressor, so burns out
