airbag light blinks a code

airbag light blinks a code

my airbag light in my cluster blinks a cod and then remains on how can i read the code and fix whatever problem it is. this is the last light i have to get rid of and i want it gone

it will blink a pattern at first.
ex.
it will blink 4 times and stop for a second then blink 7 times. that is code 47 which i believe is pass side seatbelt sensor. once you get the code you can look it up

yeah what he said...usually it throws the code because the sensors under the seats are loose..if you unplug them and plug them back in im willing to bet it will go away

im sorry its a 98 2wd xlt
im going to look under the seat to see if thats the problem and if its not ill see what the code is so i just count how many times i blinks and then it will pause and then count again and put the two numbers together and thats my code? also do i count the one where it goes solid and stays on?

That's correct. It will blink and stop, that's your first number, then it will blink and stop again, that's your second number. It will stay on for the rest of the time that the truck is on after that. You can do a search on here for what the code means, I've had a few of those codes and have done the same myself.

fixed this last night. as soon as i found that link i went straight to radio shack and put the new one it.
