Anyone?

I was wondering what the purpose was for that hose running from the oil fill cap into the intake snorkle was for? i unhooked it and put a filter in the oil part and sealed the snorkle part,also its a 05 xlt 3.0.Anyone with an idea would be nice,Thanks

Crankcase ventilation.

Routes the oil vapor from the valve cover into the the intake to be burned.

Similar to PCV. I'd put that back the way it was.

The valve cover side needs to stay vented so at a minimum put a mini filter on that side. Its not emmissions friendly in this fashion. Thats a decision you will need to make.

hmm ok so its like the crank case vent like on my dirt bike,its basicly the same,so if i put a filter on it it should be ok?
