Bama chip

I have an 05 Ranger 3.0 extended cab and have a K&N air filter system on the way. I am considering Gibson exhaust and just read a little about the Bama tune and would like to hear more about it - how it works, etc, what you have to do to enter the info in your truck - and improved mpg - that is what I am looking for in this truck. Its an automatic. Thanks for the help.

Thanks, will do a further search. One quick question - how do you find out the rear axle ratio on the truck? I bought it used and have no idea. Its 2wd auto.

Look on your drivers door jamb. There's a place that says Axle something or other. Take the code you find there and post it here. Someone here should be able to tell you what your axel ratio is from that code.

Thanks, I found a post on the drivetrain side that has the codes and what axle it is.
There was another #, think it was 4#s long that they also want - where does that come from? Originator something?
This site is very helpful, glad I found it.

I think you're talking about the computer code. If it's in the same place as mine (I have a 98) it should be under the hood at the very back in the center. A silver box with a white sticker on it that has the code for your truck's computer.

Thanks, you are helping me out tremendously. I now know my axle ratio and the # they are asking for! 3.73 axle.

Getting good mpg now, looking forward to some mods increasing it. 20 around town, up to 25.7 on the road, 2wd though.
