Best Performance/Exhaust Mods for the money.

Hey,
New guy here just wanted to say high ask some questions.
I have a 1999 single cabe 4x4 swb (just bought it 12 hours ago) it has a 3.0 and i just want a little bit more power from it. I am not wanting a hot rod or anything just a little more pepp. What would you suggest
Also I want to get a new exhaust. What would make it a bit louder but not a bumble bee. I was thinking 50 series flowmaster.
Thats all Im wanting to know for now.

PS: I dont want to drop anymore than $200 for performance mods. (i dont include exhaust as performace.) And I dont want the mods to kill my gas milage.

THANKS FOR READING!!!

You can get a "for sale" sign for alot less than 200$, and then selling the truck will allow you to get something with "more pep".

Yeah honestly are you serious? 200 dollar budget for "performance" buy some stickers some spark plugs and a "cold air intake". These additions to your ranger will give you instant pep in your engine Haha.

What would be the miniman I would have to spend to get a noticable gain? (just curious) Im not talking alot just maybe 10, 15hp. I have looked at k&n cold air intakes but for $250 I dont see whats so special about them. Not to mention they only give a 5.5 hp gain. I would not mind spending considerably more, IF the mod does not lower my gas milage. I hope I dont come off as a dumb @$$ on my first post, if i do sorry im not as stupid as a may sound. lol

I recommend starting with an underdrive pulley and electric fan.

This has only been asked 100 times lol. The biggest bang for your buck would prolly be a tuner. They run anywhere between $200 and $500. Theres a few used ones for sale in the classifieds on here and theyll give ya 10 to 15 hp. It wont be noticeable but itd show on paper

First off, welcome to the site. Second, that 3.0L isn't a performance orientated engine. The link that steel posted is your best bet. However, your gonna be spending alot to get it built up. Take that coin you wanna spend and put it towards an engine swap or a tuner. Preferably the swap.

Jp7 that was a halarious video.
But back to subject I think you are right morris I should probably just save my cash and buy a good tuner. Not sure if I would want to do a conversion unless i just got a sweet deal on a 5.0 or something, because the truck only has 92000 miles on it.

Mileage doesnt matter. You want more power? You need to go big or go home. You can buy a v8 at a JY for cheap and start from there.
