I know that this has been talked about before, but I couldnt find anything terribly current.

What I am looking to do is get a decent exhaust that bolts on. My main goal is just to improve the sound of the vehicle, but I do not want to lose what little power this truck has.

Let me know your thoughts as to which kind to go with, ease of installation, sound, price

 

What kind of sound are you looking for. Just a little louder than stock? A lot louder than stock? Somewhere in the middle.

Gibson = Little louder than stock
Borla, Magnaflow = Somewhere in the middle
Flowmaster = Loud

 

I'd go with magnaflow as its one of the cheaper ones that will add a nice low rumble and not cost you any power, in fact paired with a decent intake it make improve your low end torque ( i think it is low end) and throttle response

 

unfortunately for a regular cab, your only choices are gibson and dynomax. we will be loading dynomax onto our site soon

It looks like it should be an easy install. I just dont want to have to modify any of the steel framing or body on the truck.
Also will I have to cut anything off to put this on? And will it bolt in place?

 

19714 will work, and ill beat that price for you by a few bucks if you decide to go that route

 

So if 19714 will work, do I have to cut anything or is it a straight un-bolt the old one, and then bolt the new one on.

The only reason I ask is that the truck is still under warranty and I dont want to cut it apart incase I need to go switch anything back to stock for work reasons.

 

it should be completely bolt on, you shouldnt need to cut anything, but if you dont have a lift, you may have to cut the stock pipe over the axle to get it out

Seeing as I don't have a lift, I will see if I can just unbolt some parts off of the vehicle to get the exhaust out. I will take a look tonight to see how tight a fit it is.

what i did to get mine out in one peice i jacked the truck up so the rear end was at full droop and just fished it out more room that way. also if anything else just do that and take off the passanger side shock and fish it out...
