ok i have (obviously) a v6 but its a 2.9 CAN i or CANT i put headers on my 2.9 i dont know if i will have enough room but if i can make it work ill do it.

 

do they make headers for this engine??

 

I really dont know.... but i was hoping that someone could help me with that.....

oh i have another question aswell um..... is is good to use a cold air intake when you play in the mud and water. cause i heard that if your gonna have a cold air intake its not good to play in the water or mud cause you dont want to get it wet or muddy....?????????????

Keep it clean and you won't have any worries. The filter really has to be fully submersed in water to hydro lock the motor (the reason it's bad). If you go off-roading just clean it frequently. Also, I would find a way to route the intake more along the topside of the motor if at all possible, as it is susceptible to being submersed if you do go deep in the water. Just use some common sense and you'll be fine. Hell, if you want to just make one of those snorkel things lol! You'll be grabbing plenty of cold air and you won't have to worry about sucking up any water.

 

thanx the snorkel sounds a little weard ive never seen a snorkel on a ranger have you? but Hell like you said it'll be a change and something different...

Anyway, JBA is the only company (that I know of) that makes headers for the 3.0L, and you can get them from Jegs, Summit Racing, and various other online truck performance pages. I believe Summit has the best pricing on them right now at around $450-500, IIRC.
