coolant leak

well i've noticed that the 02 edge has formed a small coolant leak that is coming from the front somewhere. i assume it may be the water pump but it isnt coming from the weep hole. it is dripping down from the drivers side off the corner of the oil pan. i cant catch it dripping though. i can only see the drop sitting on the pan and it leaves a little puddle sometimes when its parked. is this the infamous 3.0 leak? or could it still be the water pump?

Check your lower radiator hose.Mine was like that too, turned out to be it and also sadly could be your radiator.Mine started as a pin hole that would open up a little when it got cold at night and would drip a little.Drove me nuts. Then it was obvious.

Sounds like it is the infamous 3.0 leak. It's the gasket on the cover behind the water pump that leaks. You need to remove the entire front cover to reseal it. Big job, expensive if you go to the stealership. If it's just a small slow leak, let it go. I've had mine for over 4 years now. It leaks a bit when the engine is shut down after running but not all the time. I've heard a few guys that have got it repaired at the stealership cost them in the area of $1200-$1400.
Only way I traced mine was I seen the coolant stains from where it comes down the front of the block.

it would not be the lower radiator hose or radiator since the leak is coming from the block somewhere. i said its dripping off the driver front corner of the oil pan. the lower radiator hose is on the pass side of the block.

thats what i was looking for rolldog. so its the front cover? i guess that would kinda make sense b/c i have seen coolant on the bottom of the crank on the front there right in the center. but only once. its usually running off the oil pan onto the crossmemeber and to the ground from there. course i can never catch it running or dripping even. just can see were it was dripping

What i meant from the radiator with the small leak is that it would shoot out at night on to the engine making it seem like it was the engine leaking.Did pressure test and wouldnt leak.finally radiator got worse.
