Crank and cam position sensors

Crank sensor is a VR(variable reluctance) 2 wire sensor, it generates and outputs AC volts, starter motor cranking should get .5-1voltAC
These rarely fail, easier test is to spray fuel into the intake and see if engine fires, if it does crank sensor is 100% working
VR sensor is like an alternator, it generates AC volts
Not sure OHMs would help but they should read 100-4500 ohms best guess
Cam sensor in 1998 may be 3 wire, so Hall Effect Sensor(VR 2-wire was used 1999 and up I think)
Light Blue/orange stripe wire should be 12volt, might be 5volt some years
Black/white stripe wire is Ground
Dark Blue/orange stripe is signal wire that goes to computer, you really need a scope to test this.
Computer monitors both of the sensors closely, so you would get a code in either was faulty
