Hi all, I just registered onto the site, as well as recently becoming a ranger owner. I knew forums were the best way to go for information and behold there was an all ranger forum! haha just what i needed.

I parked my truck today in the driveway and luckily up here there is still ice and I noticed a pool of coolant that was making its way out to the drivers side. (If it wasnt for the ice i wouldnt have noticed probably cause I have a gravel driveway so it would have just sunk into the ground). I looked for about an hour for a leak and noticed everytime I started the truck it would leak out of the weep hole on the bottom of the water pump (small amount) followed by when I shut off the truck it would start pouring out. So I searched here thinking its probably somekind of blow out hole in case things got too hot, but the other threads said the water pump was going bad. I went out and bought a water pump tonight (friday) and hoping to install it tommorow.

I was just wondering if there is anything I should know before starting this job.... Im not expecting anything miraculous as far as ease of the job and I read that the gasket was a pain, but was wondering if anyone had any Do It Yourself threads or tips on how to go about it in order. Pictures would be fantastic but thats a lot to ask on such short notice I know =). So if anyone has any helpful hints on a procedure or way to get the 6th bolt thats behind the mounting bracket or an easier way to do it or if I need any special tools I would really appreciate any advice.

Im fairly engine savy (i have replaced a blown engine myself without any prior knowledge so im pretty familiar with how everything works, with the help of a forum of course).

Any help or tips would be much appreciated (anything from keeping me from beating my head against the wall haha). Thank you in advance for any responses.
