When I go above 120 kmh my 1999 3.0L V6 ranger starts ringing, as if my door is open, or my seatbelt is off. I would understand if it was at 160 or so, but 120 is just crazy. I can hardly drive when I go to the states. And ideas on how to remove this annoyance? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

 

There is the "dinger" wire behind the radio.

 

Is this easily located? I have an aftermarket deck, so its easily removed. I may have to do this tomorrow.

 

It's the cops, they put an RFID device on your ride that effects the door circuit when your speeding! Activates the chime, drives you nuts, forces you to slow down.

 

Yeah... I just bought the truck last spring, biggest downfall about the truck is that damn beeping
