E85 fuel?

You must have a flex fuel vehicle (FFV) designed for E85.
E85 is more spark tolerant, so a properly calibrated engine with an advanced knock sensor strategy can make more power on E85 before the onset of detonation. Ford FFV's make about 5% more power running on E85 as compared to 87 octane regular unleaded.
E85 has a much lower energy content per gallon then unleaded regular and the stoichiometric air/fuel ratio is much lower. This means that your fuel consumption will increase about 20%. Usually, the price of E85 is not low enough to make up the difference.
Here's what Ford says about E-85
Advantages:
• High octane
• Slightly increased performance
• Renewable North American sources
• Similar refueling system for customers
• Certain emissions reduced
Disadvantages:
• Reduced driving range
• Much higher fuel cost
• Slightly higher vehicle cost
• Limited public refueling sites
• Increased aldehyde emissions

Austin Texas now has E85 and there are a few other places around here to. As for the more horse power all I can say is WOOHOO! My truck has never been happier and all the knocking is gone too. I do get less gas milage but the price differance (about 50 cents less a gallon) and the improved performance is well worth it.
