Engine Light + Chugging + Exhaust Water

Hey there my 3.0L's check engine light recently came on. I put it in park and listened to it rev and it starts to make a chugging noise at high rpm. Also some sort of fluid comes out. I bought the truck 2 weeks ago and today was checking the oil level and nothing was in there... Anyone know my problem?

No oil on the dipstick? Well kiss that engine goodbye right now. An engine without oil is not long for this world. With no lubrication the engine will destroy itself, and it sounds like it has been working at it.

While it is certainly possible to fix it, it's a waste of time and money. Either part it out or get a new engine to have put in it.

There must have been some oil in there... When first pulling out the dipstick it shows oild way over the line. After wiping it off and reinserting the stick no oil is shown..

Oil can stay on the dipstick without there being any in the engine. If you remove the stick after wiping it and no oil is shown then there is so little oil in the engine that it doesn't register, so basically zero. You can try putting five quarts of cheap oil in the engine if you want, and it may get you by, but it sounds like the engine is already toast.

Of course, the oil had to go somewhere. Three options. One, someone drained the oil and didn't refill the engine (make anyone mad?), it leaked out somewhere, or it burned the oil. I suppose when the engine is running the oil pressure needle stays low, right?
