Engine trys to stall out.
Engine trys to stall out.
Hello everyone. I have an '02 edge with a 3.0. Its starts fine, idles fine, runs fine. But if I have to suddenly take my foot off the gas especially on an incline it cause the RPMs to drop out and nearly kill the engine. It will also do this just idling if I rev the engine. Giving it a pulse of throttle will make it do it. I know its not the IAC, the throttle body, or the fuel filter. They're all spotless. Any ideas?
When speed is over 5MPH, the computer turns off fuel injectors when you take your foot off the gas pedal, one of the main fuel savings benefits of fuel injection over a carb
But computer should turn injectors back on when RPMs drop below 1,500 or so, or speed is under 5MPH
So sitting the the driveway you can "pulse the throttle" and cause engine to almost stall?
Is this a manual or automatic

It's an automatic. and yea when i rev the engine, even if it's been idling for a bit, if i take my foot completely off the throttle the RPMs drop and it shudders and comes back up to a regular idle.
Unplug and plug back in the TPS(throttle position sensor), that cleans its contacts
Replace PCV Valve if it hasn't been replace in the last 3 or 4 oil changes, that's when it should be replaced
