alright 2001 (door sticker says built 12/00) 3.0 5 speed ranger edge that i feel i should replace the fuel filter. Ive read the notes parts houses say and if pre 5/2001 use the smaller filter with the threaded nut to hold it to the side of the frame. if after 5/2001 use the large filter with no bracket.

Mines got the large filter on it just sitting in the frame rail but from the door sticker it should have the smaller one. Are the fuel line connections the same i take it? Should i get the correct smaller one or is there a good reason ford went bigger?

 

Any help??? was hoping to change this mess out this weekend.
