gears ?

Hey i need to find out how to get a hold of some 4.56's for my truck. Where have people bought them? how much were they? and how much was installing them? do i only need the ring and pinion?

get them from Summit.......they usually run around $230 for 4.56's for the rear only.....you should also get a master install kit which is ~$80.....

I paid $80 to have mine installed (by a future inlaw who owns his own shop).......but most places will charge ~$200 to install the rear only gears....

On highway yes cause you are turning more rpms at HY speed,but in the city it will improve mpg cause the engine wont have to work as hard to get up to speed.

not true....with my 4.56 gears I am getting between 18 and 19 mpg on the highway and between 16 and 16.5 mpg in the city......i NEVER got over 15.5 mpg when the truck was 100% stock......

Really it depends on the Tires you have. I mean if you have stock tires with 4.56's then yeah your going to be getting crap for gas mileage. Now say your towing with 4.56's then your going to be getting much better gas mileage than with stock gears. It really all depends on what your doing and what you want out of it.
