help with my engine

hey guys i have a 2000 ranger 3.0. i have been have a issuse with my truck.. a few weeks a go it started this missing out with i was driving home from work i was dring about 50 - 60 mph and it droped rpm and started missing or stuttering whatever it doesnt to it a stop signs or in park just a little but not as much as it does when your driving so i replaced to fuel filter and i am fixing to replace the plugs and wires in about an hour. but it did it to me on the way home today aswell missing and stutter what else could it be if it aint the plugs and wires.....oh and it isnt hard to start either so any help please!!!

Do you have a check engine light on? It should be registering a miss fire code and tell you which if not all cylinders. I do know that later Rangers 2004-2005ish 3.0L have valve seat issue which causes an intermitant misfire. But to be sure need more input.

Do a search on the forums for 'cam syncro'

3.0's have a habit of eating them.
