Hello everybody, im new to the site and have many problems with my ranger so any help would be great. Well i have a 99 ranger with a 3.0, 2wd and a five speed, while i was driving this past week my oil pump went and then spun a rod bearing, so tonight i picked up a FREE motor from my cousin he said it was out of a 02 or 03 ranger, the motor is a 3.0 and had an automatic trans. After examing the motors next to each other i figured i had some problems. I dont think my 99 has the origanl motor in it, i need to still run the numbers, the supposed 99 motor has a metal intake and the 02 or 03 has a plastic one, im thinking that i can just take the 02 or 03 motor down to the short block and just transfer all the 99 upper and lower intake and otehr stuff onto the 02 or 03, anybody see any problems with doing this?? the motor mounts were differnt on each motor but i already transferd them to see if it would and it did.. again any help would be great
