High Pitched noise coming from the gas tank area

I know it may sound funny but have you ever plugged something in to a wall and then started to hear a really high pitched noise coming from it? Well this happened to me today when I was driving, At first in the cab My brother and I heard this sound like a tire bleeding air, but it happened when I let off the gas and when I was stopped at a stop light or stop sign. So I'm going to lowes anyway so I stop at the back of the parking lot and raise to the hood to make sure all my hoses are connected and seated right (In which they are). So I go to the back of the truck for a minute and start to hear a high pitched noise, it's not bugging me yet because nothing seems to be wrong, but I am wondering what it could be? My brother thinks its the fuel pump, which it very well could be. Does that mean it's going out?

Thanks in advance,
Will

They have a tendency to do that. Depending on the air temp and humidity, it'll come and go. Mine does that from time to time and I've owned it for 7 years without any issues with the fuel pump. You'll know when your fuel pump is shot or is going out on you. LOL

that is one of the warning signs, but mine has been doing that for quite some time. are you also having to crank it over alot to start it when its been sitting for a few? i know the 4.0s have that issue, me and my buddie both do. when it starts starving your truck for fuel or missing.... get a new one asap.
