Intake?
So i was thinkin about a k&n cold air intake. Also maybe a throttle body spacer to go along with it. Would the trottle body spacer be a waste? What gains if any would it produce?? :indiffere

??

The TB spacer is a waste. it does nothing except make a whistle noise when you go. Get the K&N intake
|
Both are a waste! Your OEM intake is a CAI. All you will get is a lighter wallet, more noise, and risk cantaminating your MAF sensor, and gumming up your IAC valve & throttle body!
|
Throttle body spacers are junk.
|
Ya i heard TB spacers are crap but i want to still get the k&n...

Search - this covered many times, has been. http://z004.ig.com.br/ig/43/00/15840...agens/noob.jpg |
This will enlighten you
https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2/search.php The K&N will do nothing at all it has been covered in almost every thread where this comes up. |
An intake will help the most when combined with other mods and tuned properly for all the mods. Intake alone won't get you much. If you decided to get an intake make sure the filter is enclosed in a box. A K&N suck hot engine bay heat that will hurt horsepower most of the time. A throttle body spacer won't do anything at all.
http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l8...1017071207.jpg I sold mine because I didn't like that it had no real shielding. I did like the noise though and some people need to realize that we don't want a boring truck so that's why we mod them. Who cares if my wallet is lighter in the end. Last time I checked it was my money. |

I would get the volant.. same idea as our stock ones but allows a lot more flow of air and will increase hp but nothing noticeable.

This thread delivers.

- Ive had mine for over a year. Sure, they are expensive but worth it in my mind. they look really nice new, i just have failed to clean under there... |
If interested I may be in the market to fab up these and sell them on here. We just got into tube bending and I've got quite good with TIG. I'd sell them for just slightly over what it costs for material and include everything but a filter...
|
Most of you all have stock engines however... I just don't see the benifit.
|
Dude, let's not do this again.
|
Wouldn't the metal tube just heat the air up anyway, running the whole point of a CAI.
|
what if you wrap the tube with heat tape??
|
That's what I'd do.
|
Or plastic molding FTW haha
