Jet Chip or Programer???
yeah the Xcal is a tuner not a chip. You can do all sorts of things with the tuner. See/Clear trouble codes, change your speedo for tire size and gear change, you can have up to three different tunes for your truck to.
it not Fred's fault he is the best guy i have ever done dealings with. i think one time like three ears ago i took it in when i first got it because it felt like it was missing on me an i thank they told me they reprogrammed my ecm but i have thought any thing of it till now
Normally my turn-around is 2-5 days total because I have tuners on the shelf. Well, I had just gotten back from Advanced Training in FL, SEMA was that week and besides, Oct 15 - Nov 7 is just a bad time to do anything automotive
As far as the codes are concerned, it's something that has been happening more and more lately; dealers are reflashing the customer vehicles without their knowledge/permission. They think they are "hooking you up" and in reality, they are really causing some issues.
I asked rangeredge 03 to read the strategies before and after the flash and to let me know what they were before he went for a test drive.
Turns out, had HAX4 on the sticker but the codes were actually FTN0 - COMPLETELY different. I've seen some updates where you have, say, a BAE1 and then you read the strategy and it comes up as BAE2. No big deal, same code, just an update. This was a completely different tune.
Rather than confuse the issue, I built three new tunes off the FTN0 codes (that he has been driving on and didn't have issues with) and emailed them with some software to upload them to the XCal2.
Quick and easy fix with a standard USB Device cable.
...and that is how these came about:

I got my Jet PM and hooked it up this weekend. Man it is soooo cool. I fixed my speedo and raised the speed limiter to 110 mph. I've got a lot more power low end and a LOT MORE power in the higher rpms. Overall it really gave me more than I expected.
Fred did my data log tunes. We had a problem finding out bout my PCM too, the code was my PYM0 or something on the sticker.. After a little bit Fred found out that my PCM was an older one that ford discontinued (I believe it was) and reflashed it to a different PCM. Fred fixed it and fixed the problem of my Tuner failing to work. I felt no affect at all. He did a badass job with the data logging and was very very helpful! Much much better!
