Jet Chip or Programer???
One thing that it tricked me on was when I was changing the tire size.
I have 31 inch tires so I put it on 31 inch tires. I think tho when your on the turn pike doing 80 and the speed limit is 70 and your getting passes like crazy something is wrong. So I measured my tires at 29.5 inches and reprogramed it and now it's within 1 mph.

There are two, the Programmer: http://www.jetchip.com/products.asp?pid=29884
And the Module: http://www.jetchip.com/products.asp?pid=21695
Programmer - can change gears and tires
Module - can not.
Ask your Jet folks about updated programs for your CAI, exhaust and headers to see what happens.
Better yet, check their site:
(Emphasis added) - the problem is, a CAI on a 3.0L Ranger is a 4-6% increase in airflow, add a Catback and you're at a 10% error that the PCM can not correct. They are relying on the "learning" to correct their modules, which is no longer "tuned", is it? Glad to see they ALMOST recommend checking your AFR's...
I call BS on this because one of our fellow Ranger owners (with a CAI, TB and Catback) dyno'd a Jet Module (before and after) and it showed a 20 HP loss from stock. The XCal2 (tweaked for his mods) showed a 12HP increase.
That is why the XCal2 is a better deal...

Custom Programs are available if you have installed aftermarket intake manifolds, camshafts, large mass air-flow sensors, nitrous oxide systems, or any type of supercharger or turbo system. You absolutely need JET Performance Custom Programs with these modifications for both tremendous power gains over stock tuning as well as to eliminate the probability of lean air/fuel ratios and excessive spark advance which are death to modified engines. You do not need a Custom Program for engines that are stock or mildly modified. For example, high-flow air filters, cold air intake systems, cat back systems and TBI spacers work perfectly with our Stage 1 or Stage 2 Power Tuning. If you suspect that your modifications would benefit from custom JET Performance tuning, call our customer service department at 800-535-1161 or email at customerservice@powerbyjet.com.

I read on the JET performance programmer that it can add up to 100 horses!! certainly thats not true... does supercharging even do that? and anyone know where they might be cheeper than from JET? I need some serious power gains and pronto
"Hid 6000k,Led taillights, Carbon Fiber Dash Mod,Turn Signal Mirrors" won't do much for performance
What have you done, and what are you expecting?
If you've done a turbonator, power pills in the gas tank and an FleaBay Performance Module, then you would have a right to be disappointed.
If you've done any credible mods and you're disappointed, they were either done wrong or your expectations are entirely too high...

lol A manual tranny really helps the 3.0L though.
Ahhh.... You've driven a 4.0L SOHC Ranger, haven't you?
Have you tried data logging? If your STFT and LTFT's are off, there may be a little left in there. But yeah, short of power adders, there are few bolt ons that make a dramatic difference in performance. Big gains cost big bucks...
Are you looking for a sports car or a truck? Short of a Lightning or a Thunderbolt, there is little in between.

Actually I had always like the MK4 (99-05) GTI's and I got a new job that required frequent driving into Houston and needed a better people hauler. My two choices were a Ford Fusion or the GTI - I only picked the latter of the two because I got a better deal, speed wasnt a huge deciding factor.
i have never drove an 4.0 ranger an i really am not familiar with data logging i really don't know how to do it?

you would have to ask fx2offroadranger i have the sct programmer it works good . do you have the under drive pulleys or anything an as for the super charger that is going to be fun to find one they are hard to find now
No more Whipples - they are done.
No other kits ready yet, though one is in the works... (M90)
Data logging is done on the device or with a laptop (pass-thru) and works with a laptop running "LineLink" from SCT. Free download and connects with a USB cable.

i cant figure out how to load the capture on the device
I would look more at an XCal2 or X3 - since it is FAR more useful.
