does a K&N really work? and is i good for the engine?

yep.. K&N FIPK Cold air intake... best mod on my truck (others will disagree), but to me it was my best investment and there are plenty who will tell you it was more than worth it to them as well... saves mpg's, enhances performance, you can hear the airflow and with exhaust it makes your truck sound likes a racecar

With my flowmaster exhaust i bought mine for the sound. You may notice .5-1mpg better gas milage and it will allow your engine to breathe much easier, but i like the sound.

I've ran a K&N filter for about 110k of the 189k miles that my truck has on it with nothing but positive results. Improved mpg by about 2 to 3 miles.
