To all who K&N: Advantages/Disadvantages of FIPK2 & 77-series

Hi.

I'm definately soon will get an intake. I want a K&N definately and don't ask me why. This has been discussed in other forums as well as here.

FIPK2 is plastic tube. 77-series is metal.
FIPK2 is approx. $220. 77-series is approx. $300.
FIPK2 is Black. 77-series is Gun Metal Grey or Polished Finishes.

Other than those stats, what are the advantages & disadvantages of getting either one??? I mean is one of the two mendrel bent, because I know mandrel bent tubing is superior to crushed or crinkled bends when talking about exhaust.

Thanks Ya'll.

Shane

I say that I have a Gen1.5, as I have the kit, but not a tube. I use my stock tube, and then an adapter to mount the filter and junk.

I've never really noticed anything other than the noise [which I like], and I think it might run better, I dont know.

It's all in the head, mostly.

so if u want some underhood bling, go for the 77...

if ur ol fashion go for the fipk plastic jobber...

wonder how much of a difference the plastic V. metal tube will make for heat disappeation

yeah looks like the fipk makes about 6.8 HP and the 77 series makes 5.32 HP,

FIPK makes more power for less money I don't really care about shiny, it wont be shiny after a trip to wharton.

if on ebay look at sellers feedback and look for NIB (New In Box) or ask the seller that same question.
