I just bought 92 ranger ext cab with 138,xxx and it sounds like i have a stuck lifter. i was wondering what kind of problems this could cause and what i could possibly do to free it up. i've tried adding extra detergent to the oil and so far it doesn't seem to be helping. any suggestions?

 

i have the same annoying little tap but mine has 186XXX

 

What oil r u running ?
10-30 will cause it sometimes.
Ford says 5-20, your call what you use.
