Loss of acceleration/torque

Over the past year, my baby's lost a lot of acceleration and/or torque... It used to be if I wanted to I could get a nice little burnout, now, ha, not even a squeek (not that I do that a lot, just illustrating). What;s the first thing I should check to see what's wrong? I'm pretty sure my tranny is going bad, could that be the culprit? Plugs are new, so are wires, fuel pressure tested OK, no exhaust leaks.

Do you have an auto tranny?

When was the last time the fuel filter/air filter was changed?

TRANS
I'll start with the trans since you say it might be going bad
is it a auto or a stick?

It's an auto 4 speed, truck has 49k miles, I HIGHLY suspect the previous owner abused the tranny... The most I tow REGULARLY is about 2,000lbs.

Oil changed, Seafoamed, PCV valve changed, sparks and wires ok, fuel filter new, air filter new, fuel pressure ok

Try changing the trans oil and filter.
