Welcome to the forum
"Replaced timing gear"?
Read the codes, WRITE DOWN results
See if you have a steady single cylinder misfire, i.e.
P0302 = cylinder 2 misfire is reoccurring, P0304 means cyl 4, usually spark or injector issue for that one cylinder
Can be compression but YOU SAID thats OK, expected compression in a 3.0l Vulcan is 160+ PSI average on cold engine, but your gauge could read low, average is the big thing, not high numbers
OR
P0316 = random misfires, general engine problem with air/fuel usually, vacuum leaks or lower fuel pressure
If you have a steady misfire code, then compare your compression test numbers to see if that cylinder came in lower than the others, could be valve seat issue, was a TSB for that on 3.0l Rangers

been looking at this thing better and found that the people i bought this from just might not have been telling me the truth looks like they took out the ck.engine light and the resonator is missing they must have thought it was the convertor any way even at idle if I turn on ac has lose of power and in Nut. if raise to 3000 rpm has shutter (misfire ) the only code is for o2 and transmission so far it dose say not im ready so they must have reset . it will keep running when in gear but not enough power to move .did find one vac. line off can't find any vac. leaks .when it was shuttering at 3000 rpm I took one plug wire off at a time made no different

It's not revving over 3,000 rpm because your trucks not moving or moving to slow, the speedometer is not registering movement.
I don't think it's a power issue, I'm thinking your transmission is your problem.
