Muffler Install Questions
Muffler Install Questions
Looked around and didnt find much that answered my questions so I figured Id ask.
Basically, Im sniffin around craigslist looking for a new muffler that will give my truck a nice deep tone. Im lookin at flowmasters currently. But Im not really knowledgeable when It comes to auto work. So is a muffler install easy? Hard? Does it require a welder? And what size in and outs do i need to be looking for? I just want to either replace the muffler directly and keep all the piping or just dump it. Im leaning towards keeping the exit after the wheel.

If all you want is a muffler, using your stock piping, I would just have a muffler shop install it for you. You can do it yourself with a hacksaw and some muffler clamps, but I think any exhaust should be welded
The 3.0 is a 2.25" pipe. Depending on what muffler you get and the inlet it has factors into what adapters you get. I agree welding is better but costs more. I was cheap and just used clamps from autozone
