NEED HELP...ABOUT TO LOSE MY MIND!!
I have a 2.9L 1989 Ford Ranger 4x2. My truck has sat for the last 6 months due it needing licensing. I went to start it an go nothing. I have replaced the battery, battery cables, distributor, distributor rotor, distributor power module, ignition coil, spark plug wires, spark plugs, 2 fuses, and the ECM relay. I still do not get spark at the plug. I thought it might be the timing but I had set it to TDC and the distributor rotor at the position # 1. I don't know what else could be keeping from getting a spark. Can ANYONE help me figure it out?:
I have done some more testing since I posted. What I have found out is that the ignition coil tests out good. I get 12V at both wires and 12V at the tower with the in the on position. I have checked the ignition power control module (ICM) and found that it is getting power. Checked the ICM ground which checks out. I also checked the crankshaft position sensor, and it is sending a pulse. Where I am confused, is that I am getting constant power from the ignition coil switching signal. From my online research, my probe light should pulse when the engine is cranked. However, it just stays on and does not pulse. I am not sure if this is supposed to be constant or not. Could it possibly be that the fuel relay may be bad?

Try looking at you computer. I pulled my ecm and at first smelled it for burnt electronics. It did smell but I still openned the casing and looked for any blown components. I ended up having a fried diode. I don't know if replacing the ecm will fix my problem because I am waiting for it to arrive, however, its something for you to check into.
