Need to replace fuel lines - question on connectors

1998 Ranger XLT
3.0 Vulcan
4x4 5 speed

After reading several threads here and speaking to a friend who works at a Ford dealer, it’s become clear that “make your own” is the way to go. There is a single line in and out of the filter (as opposed to dual lines on the engine side that I saw on a 2002 in the yard).

5/16 is the size and I can get the 10 foot roll as low as around 15 bucks. I’m going to replace the fuel pump to filter hard line and the filter to engine line. I have seen the Dorman 800-004 and 800-005 clips referenced. The actual fitting that fits on the pump and the filter is which exactly. Are they somewhat universal (in the correct size, obviously)? My truck has the older style metal ends at those locations.

Also, it appears to be one continuous piece from the filter, up along the frame rail and over the engine to the fuel rail. There is a round coupling that I believe to be one of the “spring lock” couplers. Can I get that in the after market to work with the nylon line? I think it’s something like this:
Dorman 800-130 Spring Lock Fuel Line Connector https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000IV5948

That section of line on my truck is in good shape and it’s mostly rotted near the frame. If I can replace everything to that coupler I think I’m good. So if anyone knows exactly the bits I need, that would be awesome.

I did harvest some lines from the salvage yard yesterday (only cost 8 bucks for both sections) but on closer inspection, the front line was cut before that spring lock. If nothing else I can use these as a bend template for the nylon.

I will write up whatever I do as this seems to be a somewhat common question.

Thanks in advance.

I think I answered my own question on the spring lock connector. I was able to get mine apart using a standard disconnect tool (I think I used the 5/8" one to go around the connector). I pulled out the one in question and measured it with my calipers. It's 14mm and the 5/16, so the Dorman 800-131 14mm x 5/16 barb is the "right" piece apparently. I'm hoping that this is compatible with the 5/16" nylon fuel line. Now I really just need to make sure I have the correct ends for the fuel filter and fuel pump.

I keep answering my own questions. I ordered what I need. Including the fuel filter I’m under 60 shipped.

I ordered the following:
Dorman 800-074 5/16” fuel line - 10 feet
Dorman 800-080 5/16” connector 2 pack (got two packs since I need 3 connectors)
Dorman 800-131 spring lock fuel line connector (5/16” barb x 14mm)
Motorcraft FG-1114 fuel filter

Does anyone see a problem with these items for my project?

Thanks.

Closing the loop here. Upon closer inspection on disassembly yesterday, the fuel lines are in good shape and don't need to be replaced. I did replace the evap lines, which were clearly rotted but used 1/2" ID PCV rated hose. All good here.

So interestingly, the Amazon order arrived today. Even though I wasn’t going to need to do the fuel lines at this time, I decided to hang on to the parts (I have enough beaters in my life that it may come in handy). Anyway, I checked the connectors against my truck and the only one that’s a problem is the main output from the fuel pump. The fuel line is 5/16 but the fuel pump outlet is 3/8 so it would appear that I would need a Dorman 800-091 (3/8 steel line to 5/16 nylon connector) as well if I were to complete this fuel line project on my 1998 Ranger.
