So 01 B3000 5spd. in December waiting for something with the clutch in idling all of a sudden the truck jumped forward like my foot slipped off the peddle. I dont remember what I did but with the clutch in it stopped, dont know what happened ? it did it one other time that day. hasn't dont it sense? the noise started a little time after that. its kinda a hummm. or burrrrr. its under the truck, doest when its idling, slow speeds, and under 2000 rpm? I replaced a clutch in a 2.3 5 spd, not too hard. im familiar with new type slave cylinders. but I understand how they work. im thinking the noise is coming from the slave cylinder, I can't think what else is down there that could be doing it. it doest it in neutral so can't be trans? humm pilot bearing? anyone got ideas!! Aloha!

May not be exactly like yours, but it'll give you an idea of what the assembly entails.

 

OK thank you it’s different than the one I put in in my 93 ranger 2.3. 5speed. I’ll crawl under the truck and see what I got since this has a external slave cylinder. Thanks again

 

its different mine has no external slave cylinder its probably more like the one in my older ranger,
