1994 3.0 5 speed grinding noise with clutch in and out

Hi everyone first post here,
I have a 1994 ranger with a 3.0l v6 with a 5 speed, 165k, I’ve owned it since July of this year and this is the first major problem Ive had besides some brake lines.
Over the past few months I have started to have this loud noise coming from the transmission , for me it happens when I push the clutch in, any gear including neutral and as well as when I let it out the noise continues.
For example if I am in 4th gear wanting to slow down, as soon as I push the clutch in (yes all the way down) I hear this very loud noise which somewhat sounds like a bad bearing grinding, put it in 3rd and as I let the clutch out it doesn’t slow down and the noise continues. As well as sometimes when I go to shift from 2nd-3rd when I try to push it into 3rd sounds like I didn’t even push the clutch in, straight grinding.
The noise is an extremely loud humming almost grinding noise. Again with the clutch engaged and disengaged. Feel a strong vibration in the shifter when the noise is happening

Looks like it's time to do a clutch job.
The grinding is most likely the release bearing on the slave cylinder.
When going from 2nd to 3rd, it may not be releasing the clutch and, from your description, the clutch may also be slipping.

I was thinking it it could be the release bearing, that would make a noise when you press the clutch and also when it is released correct? Release bearing and thrust bearing are the same thing correct?

Yes, release bearing, thrust _ throw-out bearing, it's all the same thing.
Correct, yes for the bearing that's making noise.
The bearing is part of the slave cylinder, so the whole unit will have to be replaced, and given the fact the trans has to be dropped, it's a given that the slave should be replaced anyway.
Use "LUK" brand slave and master cylinder.
