Running a 99 ranger xlt v6 3.0l and just recently having a reading of 0 when at idle, just changed out the oil pressure sensor and still the same reading. i have about 1,200 more miles till my regular 3,000 miles oil change, currently at 68,xxx miles on it. please need some help before i break down and bring it to a mechanic so they can charge me out the tailpipe for many new things that i didnt need

 

Did you check and see if oil is in it?

 

yes it is fine on oil.

 

mechanic said that it was probably the oil pump and i am going to need a new one
