I get about 200 miles on one full tank of gas everytime. Is this normal? What does everyone else get? I have a 2002 Mazda B3000 with the 3.0. It's the dual sport model with 173k miles. Thanks.

I have the 3.slo also. On the highway I get about 290 miles on fairly flat land. For city mileage I get anywhere from 240 to 255. I am running real gas and not the ethanol crap. The ethanol blend cuts the mileage about 20 or so miles per tank. I typically put 14 or so gallons in it when the light comes on. I keep it serviced and keep the tires rotated with the correct pressure. I also drive close to posted speed limit.

The truck is used primarily for city mileage. To school and to work and back usually. I put about 13-14 gallons as well usually when the light comes on. The tires are at the correct pressure and all. I'm on regular 89 gas with non ethanol. I'm not sure what could be the issue. I've heard it could be a pcv valve stuck open or maybe an o2 sensor. No check engine light though.

Heck I average 290 miles around town on a tank 3.0 automatic transmission. Haven’t taken it on an extended road trip yet. I average 16 to 17 mpg. 149k miles.

Running without a gas gauge, I was always able to get 360 miles to a tank on a 93, 3.0 ranger splash around town. Calculated once that I should get just under 400, but used that as my safety net.
2004 Edge I get right around 300 miles per tank so far (before fuel light kicks on). Same size tanks I think. Just different mileage I guess.

Oh, both are 3.0's

My son drove my 3.0 flex auto (extended cab, long bed) and got around 260-280 for 16 gallons. Fill ups averaged $40-45. Mostly local driving with no highway.

Got him a used Prius with 145k on the clock ($4500). 8 gallons gets 300-330 miles even with his lead foot. (Flame suit on)

My 2001 edge reg cab 2wd 5 speed seems to be getting 250 before i put 11-12 gallons in it of E10. Dont trust fuel gauges - i came from GM land where fuel gauge is merely a suggestion of what COULD be in the tank so i dont trust it lol.

Most fuel efficent car I have is straight carburated, seats 4 with 4 doors, has a hatch, 38 years old, 4 speed, heat that will singe leg hair (yes actually singes leg hair if on high too long), going 3k rpm at 60 mph Chevette. Pure interstate 39-40 mpg cruising at 60-65mph. Mixed is 32mpg all on E10. None of that fancy O2 sensor computer controlled crap - just a screw lol. Best part cost a whole $225, most parts are available at any auto parts store, and not a prius.

My 3.0L works its heart out here in SoCal, the Mountains will kill the headway really quick.

I get regularly 16-18 mpg avg., best I have ever gotten is around 21, and I am not sure if that was my mistake or I figured out how to drive the truck. Never got over 20 again !

Also, someone stated that they lifted their Ranger and lost mpg.
Did you put some sort of Air Dam back in place ?
Rangers are designed around the Air Dam breaking up the air flow so if you just lifted it and did not put the Skid Plate on at least then the air turbulence willow you down.
