o/d light, check engine light and rough idle
o/d light, check engine light and rough idle
I was hoping i could find some help here. I just changed my pre cat o2 sensors and spark plugs. truck was running perfect before I did this. When I was done I reconnected the pos battery cable, started the truck and immediately the o/d light and check engine light came on. The truck acts like it doesnt want to go anywhere. It completely chokes out above 3k and has no power. Personally I think its an electrical issue but I'm not sure. I cant exactly get it to autozone to have the code pulled. Any help would be much appreciated. 05 ranger 3.0
Is the speedometer working?
Reads like you disconnected the speed sensor on the rear axle.
Did you need to move any wires when replacing that O2 sensor.
VSS or speed sensor not working will turn on CEL and O/D light and ABS light on some.
Engine shouldn't be effected through.
I would disconnect Negative battery terminal for 5 minutes to reset computer, and look for loose wires during that time

Upon further investigation I discovered that a fuse had blown on the main fuse block. I believe it happened from disconnecting the pos cable instead of the negative. A rookie mistake I know. Thank you to you and everyone else who who took the time to give advise.
