oil leak!

Icon4 oil leak!

well it looks like its leakin from the oil filter i changed my oil last week and i tightened it up realy good but theirs no holes that i can find but it looks like it is leaking from the seal on the oil filter i have been offroading all weekend but i never got in no more them 3k rpms so theirs no way i broke anything im just thinkin the seal is turd on that filter anyone else got any opinions id take pictures but camera is a turd too...

i did try to tighten up the filter some more to see if thats the problem but no luck its still just a steady drip comin from the filter HELP...

It'll cost you a little oil but take off the filter and make sure there's no foreign material on the seal like dirt or something. That would make a leak possible from preventing a good seal. Just a thought...

ive seen that problem a few time did you check that the old seal came off with the old filter i know it sounds stupid but it happens here and there if you still got the old filter laying around i would check it if not drail the oil pull the filter and give it a check

no need to drain the oil, just pull the filter.
Theres a girl where i work that double bags them all the time, never remembers to see if the old gasket is off. Im still not sure why she still works there

You either got a little dirt or debris on the filter seal, a bad filter, or you couldv'e cross threaded a little bit too. Check that oil filter and oil filter seal.

goin to change the filter today the seal has almost literaly corroded away and i dont know the reason why,the filter was not over tightened because i tightened it by hand but a simple 12$ for a quart of royal purp and a new filter and me ol truck will be runnin lika bat outta hell again lol

Do you lubricate your seal before you put the filter on? Also, you are sapposed to screw it down until the seal touches the block then 1/2-1/4 turn after that. Not hand tight. Hand tight can be too tight.
