tranny switch

hey guys. I have a question. The idea of changing trannies was presented to me tonight. My dad and I both have rangers. His is a 98 4cyl 5 speed and mine is a 99 3.0L auto 4x4. He is having some shoulder and elbow problems that are giving him problems shifting and he asked me if i would swap him trannies. Is this easily doable ? what problems would we run into on the way?any help would be appreciated.

Don't quote me on this but im pretty sure the trans for the 2.3 is not the same as your auto.

I'm pretty sure it won't work. If his was a 3.0 then it probably could be done but since you have different engines its doubtful.
