Oil pressure gauge reading high

I have a 1994 ford ranger 5-speed 2 wheel drive with a 3.0l v6.
The oil pressure sensor has been reading a bit high for the past couple of days. When engine is off, gauge pegs at H. When vehicle is cold and driving the gauge stays around the "al" of "normal". When vehicle is warmed up and driving the gauge reads between "normal" and "H". When I use my turn signals, the needle jumps within the range that it's at as does the voltmeter (battery gauge). Gauge drops almost to "Normal" when I shut the headlights off. The needle jumped almost all the way to "H" once, so far, when I had to release the accelerator and step kinda hard on the brake and clutch.
Any ideas? I'm hoping for just a bad sensor but worried it may actually be a bigger problem.

Sounds like you have bad grounds check/clean all connections you can find.

Thanks. I will do that this weekend. As far as I've read on this forum, it seems that these sensors go bad pretty often. Could anyone tell me the location of the sensor in the block so that I can r&r it if need be?
Also, before I have a chance to get to the checking and cleaning of grounds, any other ideas of possible causes would be appreciated. Thanks again!

On the back of the motor (passenger side) behind the valve cover.

It's the sensor down and to the right of the Cam Sync. At least on my '01 3.0 litre.
