Normal Oil Pressure Reading for 2.3?

Hey guys, I have a 1994 Ranger with the 2.3 with a 138K on the motor. I was just curious about what the usual oil pressure range is for these motors. When I first start my truck, the oil pressure is sitting on the beginning of the letter M on the gauge, and then after I drive, it goes up and stays on the end of the M or at the beginning of the letter A. I really wish it had numbers instead of a stupid word, but thats the best that i can describe it. It has never dropped below the middle of the gauge, and it doesnt smoke or make any noise. Im just curious if that seems normal to some of yall. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

yea, the 94 is just a dummy gauge, all ti tells you is if there is pressure or not. if you really want to know get an aftermarket mechanical oil pressure guage and plumb it in.

i had a 90 that was stopped showing oil pressure. never sounded bad or anything, but showed no oil pressure at all through the gauge. went, bought a new oil pump/ pickup/ motor mounts, and all chaged it, still no oil pressure on the gauge. changed the sender, still nothing. i knew there was oil pressure and plenty of it because we got about 40k miles out of it with no pressure on the gauge.

but yeah i suggest as well to plumb in a manual gauge, doesnt even need to be an autometer or anything, just a get a cheap one and you'll be fine.
