opinions on exhaust?
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the 3.0 engine sounds good with an exhaust, or if it sounds like a ricer. I have heard good things about gibson and magnaflow for being pretty mellow and still adding a little noise. Does anyone have any advice for a nice low sounding but not too loud exhaust?

thats what i plan on getting pretty soon. its the Borla Pro XS Single in dual out. i think it sounds mellow and not too loud which is what i want, and what you want. |

I had a flowmaster installed on my old 3.0 XLT with a side exit, it wasn't loud, i really liked the sound... my .02

Magnaflow ftw.

I heard my first confirmed exhausted 3.0L just yesterday....appeared to be a Flowmaster Delta 40...and I must say, it sounded AWESOME! Beefy, powerful, but not ricey. BUT....ALL v6's sound ricey at high RPM's. Can't get around that.

if you want a good deep rumble go with flowmaster
if you just want straight up loud get a twister http://s303.photobucket.com/player.s...fs=1&os=1&ap=1 http://s303.photobucket.com/albums/n...t=100_1417.flv |
the problem with the glass pack is that atleast around my area its a ticket generator "hello son do you relize how much noise your truck is making- cop yes sir im aware its like that stock because ford rocks =me lmao
|
I feel for you canadians...

Im considering re doing my exhaust and I've ran 2 systems using my flowmaster 40... the first was out the side... I really liked it other than the slight power decrease... then I ran it out the back hoping to regain my back pressure.. didn't happen... I'm selling my flowmaster and pipes and trying to get something that adds a little sound and doesn't rob power... any ideas?

do a magnaflow with the diy intake silencer removal and it comes out nice man no tickets as of yet

what size piping where you using? around the 2.5 - 2.75 range is best for the little 3.0 any thing bigger and you lose the bottom end but gain on the top end... I currently have 2.75 piping and I gained on the bottom end

flowmaster is the way. cheap and mellow sound, hell I and my bro both have them they sound great.

no no no. depending on where you live, and how much of a hick town you live in... sport the confederate flag, and unbolt your exhaust right under the cab! the rumble at like 3200 RPM, is amazing. and is loud as hell. dont need a horn anymore, if its a manual, and passing people you can really show your anger.... and yes, for you city guys, if you do rap it out, (4500-up RPM) it will sound like a ricer.... thats why you need hick sticks, roll bar, **** load of lights, and country music. BTW i have a 3.0 intake, programmer, scangauge II.... |
