opinions on exhaust?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the 3.0 engine sounds good with an exhaust, or if it sounds like a ricer. I have heard good things about gibson and magnaflow for being pretty mellow and still adding a little noise. Does anyone have any advice for a nice low sounding but not too loud exhaust?

I heard my first confirmed exhausted 3.0L just yesterday....appeared to be a Flowmaster Delta 40...and I must say, it sounded AWESOME! Beefy, powerful, but not ricey. BUT....ALL v6's sound ricey at high RPM's. Can't get around that.

yea i liked those, they both are better than i thought. i remember hearing your gibson on your 4.0 and i like that a lot, i hope it would sound similar on the 3.0. i had a 3.8 mustang with an exhaust i liked the sound of that, i just hope the 3.0 does the same. im gonna check the prices of them all. Thanks everyone!

Im considering re doing my exhaust and I've ran 2 systems using my flowmaster 40... the first was out the side... I really liked it other than the slight power decrease... then I ran it out the back hoping to regain my back pressure.. didn't happen... I'm selling my flowmaster and pipes and trying to get something that adds a little sound and doesn't rob power... any ideas?

what size piping where you using? around the 2.5 - 2.75 range is best for the little 3.0 any thing bigger and you lose the bottom end but gain on the top end... I currently have 2.75 piping and I gained on the bottom end

no no no. depending on where you live, and how much of a hick town you live in... sport the confederate flag, and unbolt your exhaust right under the cab! the rumble at like 3200 RPM, is amazing. and is loud as hell. dont need a horn anymore, if its a manual, and passing people you can really show your anger.... and yes, for you city guys, if you do rap it out, (4500-up RPM) it will sound like a ricer.... thats why you need hick sticks, roll bar, **** load of lights, and country music.

BTW i have a 3.0 intake, programmer, scangauge II....
